There are two kinds of bouquet holders. One is for fresh flowers and one is made for silk flowers. The actual foam that holds the stems for fresh flowers is softer than the other and is colored green. Do not use that one for silks. The silk flower holder is white and the foam is hard like regular Styrofoam.

The current trend is a hand tied bouquet where the flowers are carried upright with the stems bound together with ribbon. This style is popular now because it’s different from what’s been carried in the recent past and because of its simplicity and beauty. I come from mainly a wedding photography background so I personally am not comfortable with that arrangement because when it’s carried upright, all you see from the front is the stems and a little of the flower tops. There is a solution… using silk flowers.
