What Kind of Flowers Do I Choose For My Wedding
Almost everyone has a favorite flower, and although you have hundreds of colors and varieties to choose from you probably will still at least incorporate that favorite of yours into your wedding pieces.
You will no doubt wonder if your flower is appropriate for the color scheme and season for your wedding. For instance, are large red roses appropriate for a spring/summer affair? Or how about delicate yellow snapdragons and tiger lilies for a winter wedding?
The answer is that your opinion as the bride is the only one that matters. Having silk flowers first of all means that you never have to worry about whether the flower you want is in season.
“The second thing is that thinking outside the box, is how fashion trends get started in the first place. So don’t worry about what people say you should carry down the aisle, be a fashion trendsetter and carry what you think is gorgeous.”
Just in case you still can’t decide on what flowers to carry, here are some tips and ideas for you to consider,
♦ Gardenias are very beautiful and if you’re planning a cascade type bouquet, a gardenia in the center looks great with other flowers surrounding it.
♦ Calla lilies are a classic wedding flower and usually are carried as arm flowers because of their very long stems, however with the stems cut short they make wonderful bouquets. This is one flower you can use all alone. In fact it looks better without any filler or even any other flowers.
♦ Flowers like roses come in so many different colors and varieties that you can find a rose to fit every season and occasion. Choose from large open blooms to delicate little tea roses and buds. Try to avoid red roses for the bride. A bouquet made of only red roses is overwhelming against the white of the wedding gown.
Always remember that flowers are meant as accents to your attire and should not take center stage. Have fun choosing your wedding flowers!
