Don’t Be Down on Low Heels

Posted by Chrissy on Tuesday, October 14th, 2008 in Wedding Shoes

Maybe you’re worried that you will tower over the bridesmaids. You might be a little shy about your extra height. Or, sometimes, a bride just wants that extra comfort and stability that comes from a pair of low heel wedding shoes.

Whatever your reason, you don’t have to sacrifice style to get comfort. In fact, some of the best styles are low heel. Subtle, elegant, and the ultimate in style.

So, just go for it!

Let’s face it. High heels are hard on the arches. They make your legs tired sooner than others. That can certainly be worth the sacrifice. You might need that extra. You could be longing to make your calves just that extra bit more shapely.

But you may not need those benefits. You might be a gal on the tall side already. All that work in the gym may have given you great calves already. (Or nature did, darn you!)

There’s just no denying that low-heel wedding shoes are easier on your feet and legs. You can stand for longer periods without fatigue. Heaven knows that can happen at a wedding like nowhere else. You can enjoy long periods in the reception line, rather than view them as torture. No need to rush, since you’re cozy and comfortable. You’ll be focusing on your guests, not your aching feet.

Low heels let you be more stable walking down the aisle, too. Or, running toward the balcony to toss the bouquet, or dancing around the floor at the reception. You never realize how often you walk, run, sit, or stand until you’ve been a member of a wedding.

But, like I said, you don’t have to sacrifice style to get comfort.

Elegant ankle straps, casual open toes, or a delightful pair of pumps can have all the style you could ever want. Looking for a pair of satin wedding shoes? They’re available in low heel styles. Want something a little more casual looking, like skimmers or sandals? You’ll find a low heel bridal shoe model that fits perfectly with no sweat.

For some, low heel is anything under two-inches. To others, it means: flat, flat, flat. Or, it could be anything in between. Whatever your definition, not to worry. There’s a low heeled style wedding shoe that will fit you like, er, a glove.

For weddings, a lot depends on the kind of ceremony. I’ve noticed that church weddings tend to be a lot longer than most other weddings (except traditional Indian weddings, LOL!), so if it’s a church ceremony, I’ll choose low-heeled comfort over high heels. Great post!
