Choosing Our Wedding Favors – Jordan Almonds In Heart Shaped Favor Boxes

Our wedding favors - Jordan almonds in heart shaped favor boxes As mentioned before, I got my wedding favors from myweddingfavors.com. I would strongly recommend this website. It has a lot of wedding favors and other wedding items for very reasonable prices!

I decided that I wanted to somehow give candy as my wedding favor. I wanted something that males and females would both enjoy, so giving candles didn’t seem appropriate.

I also came across other cute options, like mini photo frames or salt and pepper shakers. But since there were a lot of couples and families coming, I knew it would be pointless to give these items to every member of one family.

Since I absolutely love Jordan almonds, I figured they would be perfect. They’re tasty, white, and a more sophisticated type of candy. My mom warned me, “You’ll be sick of them by the time this is over.” I didn’t believe her. Of course, I haven’t touched a Jordan almond since my wedding.

I got little acrylic heart shaped wedding favor boxes from the favor website. They came with personalized ribbons, and you could even pick the color you wanted! I got pink ribbons with dark blue writing to match our wedding colors, and had our names and wedding date printed on them.

Each heart box, including the ribbon, came out to be a dollar each. That is a great deal! I was really excited. I ordered over three hundred of them, and picked up a few cases of Jordan almonds from a food service store.

That’s about where the fun part ended. I filled each heart box with seven Jordan almonds, and then had to tie the ribbon in such a way that it would hold the box closed. This was a little more challenging, because the ribbon also had to be positioned just right – so you could still read the writing.

I got better at this as I went along, but it still took me about a week to finish them all. Luckily, my dad felt sorry for me and started helping me by filling the heart boxes with the almonds. Bless his heart.

Unfortunately, during the transport from my parents’ house to the hall the morning of the wedding, several of the boxes came apart. I had a couple bridesmaids helping me decorate the hall, though, and we got everything together in no time. And the almonds were a big hit! I may not be able to have them again for a very long time, but wedding planning involves sacrifices.
