Choosing Who Gets Wedding Flowers At Your Wedding Made Easy With This Wedding Flowers List
Choosing your wedding flowers is a fun wedding job. After you’ve decided which florist to go to, you get to look through books of samples and samples they display at the shop. There are so many choices available. What kind of flowers do you want, what shape or style of bouquets, what color scheme to match your wedding, and how much are you willing to pay?
The one question you shouldn’t have to worry about is who gets flowers at your wedding and what types of arrangements will they need? Let’s take care of that wedding flower list right now, so you’ll know in advance what you need to order. Having a wedding flowers list will empower you to know what is and is not needed.
♦ Bridal bouquet
♦ Bridesmaids bouquets
♦ Flower girl basket or bouquet
♦ Grooms boutonniere
♦ Groomsmens boutonnieres
♦ Ring bearer boutonniere
♦ Flowers bouquet for statue of Mary
♦ Altar flowers
♦ Single roses given to moms during ceremony
♦ Both moms corsages
♦ Both dads boutonnieres
♦ Toss bouquet
♦ Grandparents, godparents, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters and anyone who is sponsoring a portion of your wedding, will all need corsages and boutonnieres.
♦ Bouquet or corsage for ill or deceased parent if you plan to make a stop after the ceremony to a nursing home, hospital, or cemetery. This would apply to siblings of the bride and groom also.
♦ Centerpiece for the bride and grooms table. Sometimes the couple will elect to bring the altar flowers from the church to use as their centerpiece, however since the altar pieces are pretty large they usually just sit on the floor in front of the bride and grooms table. Also many banquet halls supply carnations in a vase in your wedding colors for all the guest tables. If this is not the case or you want something a little more special, you should order centerpieces also from your florist.
The most important thing is to choose the wedding flowers that you want and love, however keep in mind that red roses for example, can be very overwhelming against a white gown.
Remember this when choosing your blooms that the flowers are just supposed to accent your costume, not be the main attraction. When a bride carries red roses, the first thing you notice are the roses when the first thing you should notice is the brides face, then dress, then flowers.
An all white bouquet does not stand out enough and will get lost against the all white background of the gown. For my wedding bouquet I had white roses mixed with pink roses, the color of my bridesmaids gown. That way it was not overpowering, yet it was visible.
